"Remember the Airstream creed"
'Don't ever let your wheels stop rolling for more than 30 days at a time.'

1975 Better Homes and Gardens add!

THE PROJECT CONTINUES!

On to the next phase

The bathroom refurbish made such a huge difference I have to continue. Out with the carpet and down with a floating laminate floor. We have chosen the snap lock style, natural maple.

Prior to installing the new flooring, we decided to change the color to lighten the room up.

The flooring installed great! Had to make a tool to snap the end pieces together.

Started working on finishing touches, a bit of border to liven the wall up.

Well, we are getting down to the little things inside now.
I found a bracket, for the longest time I could not figure out what it was for, then,
I happened along a photo of an Vintage unit!

It's a spray wash for the Lav!

Wall Cushion

Here is the cure for the cold wall.

Now it is in a shop out of the weather and heat
it is time for some exterior work.

Last November (2004) I started the Bumper repair/replacement.

Almost done with the inside repairs, I really needed to get the frame extension and bumper installed.

Now with this is completed and a new shore power outside plug installed.

While I have the thankful luxury of a garage all the wheels have been pulled, inspected and re-packed.

Upon closer inspection, the original ones make me nervous...

Some corrosion around the bead area.
Waiting for new rims to have tires swapped.

Working Interior
New Bali Blinds

Still need to find a way to trim these out.

Working on a room divider.
The material we used for the wall cushion looks pretty good!

After. New running lights.

Wally Byam - The Man Who Started It All

Over sixty-five percent of all Airstream trailers ever built are still on the road today.

Inventor Wally Byam once said, "Adventure is where you find it, any place and every place, that is, except in a rocking chair." Over 50 years ago he invented an auto trailer that was lightweight and aerodynamic to reduce drag — and look marvelous.

Recipe for Success: Soft, flat sheets of aluminum are stretched into the signature shape. Thousands of rivets fasten the aluminum sections together to form a shell. The shell is attached to the chassis, tested, wiring installed, walls insulated and finished.
