Born about 1612 to Londigny, Villefagnan, Angouleme, France..Jean immigrates in 1648. He then married Marguerite Guillebourdeau, daughter of Louis Guillebourdeau and Marie Maguin on November 20, 1650 with the parish Our-Lady from Quebec, Quebec, Canada. He was a farmer, after November 20, 1650 in western point, Île of Orleans, Québec.

Jean Baillargeon buys the land of Rene Maheu in the island of Orleans after June 5, 1656 Island of Orléans. The marriage contract of Jean Baillargeon and Esther Coindriau was signed on February 5, 1666 in witness of Maître Paul Vachon says Pomerleau.

He married Esther Coindriau, girl of Nicolas Coindriau on March 8, 1666 with the parish Our-Lady of Québec.

Jean Baillargeon, Nicolas Baillargeon and Jean Baillargeon lived in 1667 in the Island of Orleans, Jean Baillargeon had five cattle and sixteen acres of land in valeur. He dies before the census of 1681 in Île of Orléans, the ancestral ground is located at nearly one kilometer beyond the Maheu river, when one goes from Midsummer's Day Royal, the St. Lawrence, Island of Orléans

 

Notes for MARGUERITE GUILLEBOURDEAU:

Marguerite Guillebourday was supposedly murdered by

the Iroquois on a massacre in the Ile de Orleans on

October,1662.

Jean and Marguerite had a daughter named Jeannne. She

was born on May, 1651. She was nine years old at

the time of the attack. She is noted in the history

books as the " Young blonde girl about 9 years of age

that was captured by the Iroquois at that time. She

was kept prisoner until she was 18 when she was

released after the French paid a ransom for her.

Apparently her experience did not do too much harm to

her as after she returned to the French people she

outlived three husbands."

Charles François Baillargeon

French-Canadian bishop, B 26 April, 1798, At Island-with-Cranes, P. Q; D. 13 October, 1870. He studied theology At the Seminary of Quebec, where He taught rhetoric. Ordained in 1822, He was successively chaplain At St Roch, pastor of St Francois, Isle of Orleans, of the joint parishes of the Angel-Guard and Castle-Richer. While rector of Our Lady of Quebec, He displayed apostolic zeal and charity during three Visitations of cholera (1832, 1834, 1849), and the horrors of typhus (1847), assisting many Irish orphans. He was made Bishop of Tloa and co-adjutor to Archbishop Turgeon of Quebec, 23 February, 1851; being the first Canadian bishop since the conquest, appointed without the intervention of the British Crown. He became administrator in 1855 and succeeded have Archbishop of Quebec, 26 August, 1867. He attended the Vatican Council. He published has French translation, with commentary, of the New Testament (2d ED, 1865), lauded by Pius IX, "Collection of Ordinances" (1859), and over thirty significant Pastoral Letters, besides many other official documents.

EXETER - Amede A. Baillargeon, 89, of 36 Guinea Road, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, in Exeter Hospital.

He was born June 19, 1915, in Exeter, the son of the late Doricque and Emma (Nichols) Baillargeon.

He was educated in Exeter schools.

Mr. Baillargeon was a foreman for the former Exeter Brass Co. for 25 years. He then owned and operated an egg business with his wife for many years.

He was a communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Florence "Lil" (Emond) Baillargeon of Exeter; six sons, Amede A. Baillargeon Jr. of Nottingham, Michael D. Baillargeon of Brentwood, Philip D. Baillargeon and Andre P. Baillargeon, both of Exeter, Robert E. Baillargeon of Nottingham and Kenneth A. Baillargeon of Exeter; two daughters, Yvonne J. Lutes of Raymond and Marie A. Winch of Brentwood; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Exeter. Burial was in Exeter Cemetery.

EXETER - The year was 1937. Franklin Delano Roosevelt embarked on his second term as president. Margaret Mitchell’s "Gone with the Wind" snagged the Pulitzer Prize for fiction.

Lillian (Emond) Baillargeon, formerly of Newmarket, soaked up the spring air, not knowing that a friendly passerby would become her life partner, raising eight children and managing an egg farm together.

"I was sitting on the porch with my mother, and he saw us and stopped and talked with us," Lillian said in her Exeter home a few weeks before she and her husband Amede Baillargeon were preparing to celebrate their 64th wedding anniversary. The exchange of polite pleasantries eventually led to an exchange of wedding vows at St. Mary’s Church in Newmarket - the same spot Amede had proposed to his bride.

As Lillian and her oldest daughter Yvonne Lutes began sharing vignettes of life growing up on a road without another home or utility pole in sight, Amede napped on the family’s living room sofa, with an oxygen tube, rather than a blanket, draped over his slender frame.

"He was on the roof last summer," Lillian said, referring to her husband. Although a host of medical conditions, including diabetes and emphysema, has prevented Amede, 87, from climbing ladders and cutting wood, he still ventures into the couple’s yard with his oxygen tube trailing behind, checking out the exterior of the eight-room home he built from his own blueprints nearly 50 years ago.

"We were the only home on this road," Lillian said, recalling spending the first two years in the newly built home without electricity or a telephone.

Yvonne, sitting across from her mother, smiled. "We were like Abe Lincoln doing our homework in front of the fireplace," Yvonne said.

Her father sat up to scan the faces in the room. Within a moment, Amede was ready to join the conversation. "They won’t give me the juice," he said.

Mrs. Gagne was a stitcher in the local shoe industry and had

worked at Sam Smith Shoe and Timberland Shoe in

Newmarket and Nike in Exeter.

She was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church in

Newmarket and was a member of St. Michael’s Church in

Exeter.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bernard P. Gagne

of Brentwood; two sons, Bernard G. Gagne and Gerard Gagne

both of Newmarket; four grandchildren; three

great-grandchildren; two brothers, the Rev. Albert Baillargeon

of Rochester and Victor Baillargeon of Newmarket; two
