Rig or Rent - Recession Busting Make up Rally
The Snow man never misses a Rig or Rent!

Friday Evening
Getting Started
We arrived early afternoon after a quick trip
to Wal Mart for an additional "Easy Up, there was some rain in the forecast.
The lawn and field was in need of attention and "Abe" our tractor needed a new
parking place. Shortly after the chores were done every one started to arrive.
We had plans for R & R to have a spot up by the stream, after attempting to
wiggle the Caravel in it was decided they had better come down with the rest of
the group. With all but one tucked in we lit a campfire just in time for happy
hour. Every one enjoyed the complimentary Turkey Crossing American Chop Suey
with Tuscan bread. As predicted, Vintage Thunder rolled up the driveway @ 9 PM.
We quickly got them settled and continued enjoying our conversations and
campfire to past midnight!
Saturday
After breakfast, Saturday morning everyone
participated in a Caching 101 seminar.
It help show the many some of the different ways caches can be hidden.
The Final cache had bubble wands for all.
Bob and Paulette showed up in the early
afternoon, just in time for Happy Hour.
Sue was volunteered into modeling the latest in bug free attire
This Flamingo, we affectionately call Skelator, has graced every Rig or Rent.
Donal got to hang out on the Big Tractor!
The Dogs had a great time all weekend.
Just a little recreation before the Dinner.
The Turkey Supper at Turkey Crossing was just awesome.
Two Turkeys had been cooking all afternoon.
One in the Electric Oven and one in the Smoker. Both came out great.
Everyone had planned and made side dishes to compliment the meal.
The Turkeys and all the Fixins made this, a meal to remember!
Leon came with the times and locations of
celestial events. What a treat is is to watch the space station pass over on
queue!
I was especially impressed that we were able to see 3 iridium flares. I know I
have been watching the heavens all my life and never have I had the good fortune
to see not only one but three! Before the night was over we spotted several
satellites, the space station, three iridium flares and 6 unscheduled shooting
stars!
Sunday
Off to Goose Pond (in the Rain) to grab a Cache, Kayak, swim and have a picnic lunch.
Guess who go to the cache first?
Plenty of parking for the troops.
When we arrived it started to rain, Paulette assured us it was a passing shower...

Monday
Most of group combined a hike up the mountain with caching.
Mount Cardigan, elevation 3121', is one of the states most hiked
mountains, and today was a good example.
We saw hikers from age one, to I would guess in the early 70's. They were an
inspiration to us all.
On the trail
The Summit
The hike down South Peak trail.
The Views
One Happy Cody nearing the base of the trail
At the end of the hike we had tallied 4.25
miles. The time was 4 hours, two hours, seven minutes of walking, one hour,
fifty three minute of stationary time.
The group found 3 caches, one was a real bugger (found by Leon) and placed two
more caches on the mountain.
Back at camp, Michelle was waiting in peaceful solitude, now she knows the allure our little spot in the mountains has for us.
All packed each rig slowly pulled away.
Thanks to all for making this a memorable time for everyone!
PS
Although there were no Turkey sightings during
the weekend,
early Tuesday morning we spotted a heard sauntering through the yard!
(Temp was 33 degrees)
