The Unofficial

08 Vintage Trailer Jam

Remembrance

We arrived mid Friday Morning, already there were dozens of vintage campers parked,
enjoying the sunny day.
(Click on the small photos to enlarge, then page back)

There was just an incredible number of unique "Campers" rolling in.

After a while we understood why the Rally was dubbed the "Trailer Jam"
Trailer Jam - Traffic Jam, get it?

We were given "free" access to the grounds, this included the auto museum.
This weeks exhibit was "the GTO"

Happy hour started with the ever popular,
"how the heck does this thing go together" game.

Now this is entertainment!

Friday's concluding slide presentation commences at sunset, excellent historical information on the early years.

Check our the late arrival in the background!

Saturday Morning

Up at 6:00 to find a sea of aluminum

1939 Clipper. Believed a lost Vintage Airstream now found.

What a cool place to be interviewed about your, some would say hobby,
some passion while others will admit it is an addiction.

Simply incredible restorations were at every corner!

What a small world. We spent a while chatting with the gentleman who restored and owned this wonderful canned Ham.
He lives not 8 miles from us! We grew up knowing of him, as he was a farmer back in the day like my dad...

Late arrival Saturday. We were all wondering what happened and where the Spartan Manor went. A incredible twist of fate, they were traveling and a frame member failed. Fortune shined on them as they were not far from a weld repair shop. They are awesome folks to not give up, it was fixed and they arrived with no further issue!

Saturday evening we were treated by a great Blue Grass band and a wonderful BBQ Supper!

Sunday we snuck off to see my cousins' 1998 Airstream 5th wheel.
The exterior is near flawless. Over the years, it has seen some water damage.
Can you imagine full timing in a restored Integrity???

It is awesome how Happy hour just seems to appear.

Then disappear. We found several new ideas for our collective own future happy

Lastly Sunday evening came the awards.

Although there were SO many incredible restorations,
the "peoples choice" award went to "the one decorated like a yacht.
I was lucky enough to snap a few photos. Thank you both for allowing me to share!

There were a great number of "Diamonds in the Ruff".
This '58 is just one example!

All weekend we all were commenting on what a great, wonderful, awesome, fabulous rally this was!
Thanks to the hard work the promoters and volunteers that made it happen!
I know I am not alone in hoping this will become an annual event.

So with that, to all our old friends, new friends and acquaintances,
with a little luck, we will see you down he road!

If you have any pics you would like to share, send them to me I'll post em up!
