Original coating was peeling off.
Carefully pry out the the aluminum retaining ring from one side and work your way around to free it from the channel it is in

I used tape, in case the inner window shattered. I was lucky as the inner window was made of Plexiglas and came out with no issue. Clean off the window glazing sealant. This can be purchased and most hardware stores. It comes in a roll like tape.

 Clean off any window glaze and peeling coating with a razor knife. You need to use extreme caution, if this window breaks it may shatter into thousands of pieces

Install the new glaze sealant and install the removed Plexiglas

Work the ring back into the groove. Use care this is not an easy task.
