Tambour Repair
Unfortunately I did not snap any shots of the
beginning of the prep.
The original paper backing had broken on these tambours, about every 2 or 3
strips.
I tried several methods to cut the jagged edges from the strips, the best method
was with a small block plane.
Once that was done, I placed the pieces face up and used masking tape to hold
them in place.
ON the opposite side, we cut the material 3/4" shorter on each side, to prevent
binding in the tracks.
Then, we applied the tambour glue to the 100% fabric then a light coating on the
strips around the edges only.

Placed the unit on a flat surface, covered the
fabric with plastic and then a board to press flat, then a weight to compress.
Waited 12 hours
After 12 hours the glue had set and was ready to work.
Removed most of the screws that hold the assembly in place, sled the left side in and installed a couple screws back in to hold things together.
The right side was more tricky, Slide in the
second assembly, while holding things together.
Don't forget the trim needs to be in place.
Re-align the holes and put the screws back in place.
Two down, they work nice!
